13th April 1973 DAVID BOWIE released his 6th studio album, ALADDIN SANE featuring the iconic lightning bolt make-up.
The album was originally going to be titled "A Lad Insane" but his record company thought this title to controversial for the time.
Featuring the hit singles" Jean Genie" and "Drive-In Saturday" this was BOWIE's most successful album to date.
