By the time the album was released in January 2006 the Artic Monkeys had already notched up two huge No.1 singles with “I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor” and “When the Sun Goes Down”, which both featured on the album. The album became the biggest selling debut album of all time and a record the band still hold to this day. It was named as the Best Album of 2006 by Time Magazine and won the Brit Award for Best British Album the same year. It has since been ranked in many greatest albums of all time charts by the likes of Rolling Stones Magazine and NME amongst many others
