About The Album

More commonly referred to as just “Viva La Vida”, this was the fourth studio album of Coldplay released in June 2008 on the Parlophone label. Five singles were released from the album with the biggest success being the title track “Viva La Vida” which secured the band’s first time topping the charts in both the UK and the USA. The other tracks released were “Violet Hill”, “Lovers in Japan”, “Lost” and “Strawberry Swing”. The album won “Best Rock Album” at the 2009 Grammy Awards and was also nominated as “Album of the Year”. By 2011 the album had sold over 10 million copies and is regarded by many as Coldplay’s masterpiece.
